  • Main Ideas:

    • While friendship is an important part of our lives, we face many challenges in finding and forming healthy friendships.

    • Jesus had friends, but even among the Twelve Apostles, some were closer to Him than others. We can learn a lot about friendship through the way Jesus interacted with His friends.

    • Friendship requires us to communicate, which is not easy, and there are healthy ways to overcome the challenges we face within friendships.

SOS Jesus Prayer

Get a clean, empty bottle or a box and decorate it with the words “SOS Jesus.” Get enough slips of paper to write a name for each of the following intentions. The first two were used during the video session.

  1. Write the name of someone you know who is lonely and could use your friendship.

  2. Write the name of a friend whom you need to forgive.

  3. Write the name of a friend you are not as close to anymore.

  4. Write the name of a friend whom you need to apologize to.

  5. Write the name of a friend who is going through a difficult time.

  6. Write the name of a friend who does not know God or is struggling with their faith.

  7. Write the name of a friend who needs to know that they are not alone.

  8. Write the name of a friend who needs to know that they are loved.

Pray this prayer three times: “Jesus, I trust in You.” Pray this every day for these friends.

This week, connect with one of the friends you are praying for.
