Main Ideas:
Social media can be a great tool for connection and expression, but it can also have a negative effect on a person’s self-esteem and relationships.
The downsides of social media can be navigated by learning how to use it in a healthy and positive way.
Our use of social media represents who we are and is a tool we can use to make a positive impact in our world.

Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, offer a prayer, and sit in silence in the presence of Jesus for 5 minutes.
End the time of silence with this prayer:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where uncivil words prevail, show me how to model love.
Help me remember the God-given dignity of all and invite others to do the same.
Show me how to build bridges and not walls
And see first what unites us rather than how we are different.
Let me seek to understand before asking to be understood.
Give me a listening heart filled with empathy and compassion.
May I be clear in sharing my opinions and respectful of other people’s opinions.
Let me never tolerate hateful ideas.
May I invite all to charity and love.
Lord, help me to imitate your compassion and mercy.
Make me an instrument of your peace. Amen.
