In communion with the mission of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church — to Love God, Embrace All People, and Share the Gospel Joyfully — we are committed to equipping young people to live as faithful, joyful witnesses in their families, parishes, and communities.

Missionary Disciples

In virtue of their baptism, all the members of the People of God have become missionary disciples (cf. Mt 28:19)….The new evangelization calls for personal involvement on the part of each of the baptized. Every Christian is challenged, here and now, to be actively engaged in evangelization; indeed, anyone who has truly experienced God's saving love does not need much time or lengthy training to go out and proclaim that love. Every Christian is a missionary to the extent that he or she has encountered the love of God in Christ Jesus: we no longer say that we are "disciples" and "missionaries", but rather that we are always "missionary disciples". (Evangellii Gaudium, 119)

    • Once a month year 2 Confirmation students and families meet for a night of formation. We are in need of devoted individuals to help with these sessions.

Leadership Qualities

    • Has a deep love of Christ and the Church

    • Eager to pass on the stories of faith and to celebrate the Church year

    • Recognizes a relationship with God is above all else

    • Ability to relate to and engage the children/teens at the appropriate developmental level

    • Create a warm, positive atmosphere where each child/teen is known and valued

    • Willing and able to prepare for each session in advance

    • Able to commit to being present for most of the sessions

OLA Youth Leader Schedule

OLA Youth offers two youth group programs for the youth of our parish from 6th-12th grade.

Middle School (aka BLAZE) is for all 6th-8th graders. Blaze meets from 3:15-4:45PM on Sunday afternoons. (see schedule for exact dates)

High School (aka SUMMIT) is for all 9th-12th Graders. Summit meets starting with a dinner at 6PM and ends at 8PM. (see schedule for exact dates)

NOTE: Leaders are asked to arrive 15 minutes early before each sunday session so that they can receive any updates and be there when the teens arrive.

Leadership Formation

You cannot give from an empty cup! We want you to give from a place of overflow! We are excited to provide various formation opportunities throughout the year to grow in leadership, knowledge, and ultimately in relationship with Jesus!

  • What gifts do I have?

    We will begin with mass at 8:30AM and end around 1PM.

    This will be a time to go through the year and dive deeper into the gifts the Lord has given us to better serve the youth of OLA.

  • There will be a blessing for Catechist and small group leaders of OLA to receive a Catechist Blessing

  • What am I doing with the Gifts I have?

    We will continue diving into the gifts the Lord has given us and use this time to reconnect about new ways to better serve the youth of OLA.

  • Fr. Bass will lead us in a day Lenten Retreat to recenter our minds and hearts for Jesus’ triumph over death!

  • We want to celebrate the gift of YOU!
    Join us for a time of fellowship and fun as we celebrate the end of a great year serving our youth!
